LTG (Ret) David Heebner

LTG (Ret) Heebner spoke of his battalions preparation and mobilization during the run up of the Gulf War (1990) . The movement of thousands of personnel and their equipment from Germany to Israel was monumental. The logistics and political implications were massive.

The American government and allies had formed a 31 country coalition to blunt Saddam Hussein’s Iraq invasion of Kuwait and neighboring countries. LTG Heebner’s “Patriot Missile “ command protected Israel from SCUD missiles providing early warning signals and detonation of incoming warheads. A constant issue was keeping Israel only on a defensive posture and not going on offense which would have broken the coalition rules.

LTG (Ret) Heebner’s presentation was a lesson in our Middle East ongoing conflicts his reflection’s and insight was well received by post members and guests. A very active question and answer was informative.?????????

Kaye McHan

Highlands Chamber of Commerce and Welcome Center Executive Director Kaye McHan spoke about the role the Chamber plays in our community.  Kaye provided an overview of the responsibilities and goals of the organization including funding sources and the strict guidelines for allocation of these funds.

She provided informative responses to a number of member questions covering topics of STRs and the number of events sponsored by the Chamber. Post 370 members thank Kaye for speaking so openly to our inquiries and taking the time to share her expertise with us. Highlands is indeed fortunate to have the Chamber/ Welcome Center advocating for our community.
